Are you or someone you know fed up with their thinning hair or hair loss? If so, you should consider what a hair specialist can do for you!
What is a Follicular Unit Extraction?
An FUE transplant is a minimally invasive procedure. To begin, after numbing, hair follicles will be removed one by one from the back of the patients scalp. The area will then be covered by pre-existing hair, as it heals, leaving no trace that follicles were ever extracted. The grafts are then prepared, and a numbing agent is applied to the scalp once again. A hair specialist will then make tiny hole-like incisions where the grafts are to be placed. The grafts will then be individually placed into the holes, a process which can take anywhere from 4 to 8 hours, depending on the size of the transplant. In the end, the results appear very natural, which is a benefit of using follicular units from the patient.
Recovery
After the procedure you can expect your scalp to be tender, and your hair specialist may have you wear bandages on the treated areas, for at least a couple of days. With this method of hair restoration you can expect the transplanted areas of hair to fall out around 2 weeks after initial implantation; however, that is completely normal. Hair should begin to grow naturally in these places after a few months. Many recipients report seeing new growth in just 6 to 9 months after treatment. The hair in transplanted areas will grow the same as it did before, and it will be all but permanent, so there is no need to worry that the effect is temporary.
FUE transplants are a tried and tested method. They work for nearly all cases, and the results will last a lifetime. The procedure is quick and relatively painless, having you in and out in the same day, with only minimal downtime after the transplantation. If you or someone you know can benefit from FUE, I urge you to contact a hair loss specialist near you. A full head of hair can help raise you confidence, and self esteem immeasurably. All it takes is one appointment to change you life. Have you already had an FUE transplant? Or do you know someone who has? Let us know the results and why you would recommend it!
